Fosca Bertran

Fosca Bertran was discovered by Karl Lagerfeld in 2003 – this encounter radically changed her young artistic life, was the start of a long and passionate collaboration and in the following years was a launch pad for her Fosca Bertran “atelier” in Paris.

Since then, Fosca has collaborated with many designers, including Balenciaga and Juanjo Oliva.

Her couture designs have become an icon. Celebrities and princesses have purchased her designs, including Sophie Marceau, Queen Rania of Jordan, Penelope Cruz, Salma Hayek, Eva Green, Monica Bellucci, Vincent Cassel, Mick Jagger and Lou Douillon.

Born in Paris to a Spanish father and Italian mother, her work is inspired by the different cultures of the countries in which she lived and travelled during her childhood, as her father’s job required a nomadic lifestyle.

Her education and work as an architect and designer have greatly influenced her creations. It is for this reason that her rugs are a mixture of the colours of nature and graphic lines. Her style is very personal and contemporary; her designs have the same experimental and creative process as a sculptor or painter.

Her creations are inspired by the desire to tell a story, to express emotion, a hybrid between fashion and art.
