Born in Bilbao in 1968, the designers moved to Barcelona where they graduated in Fine Arts from the University College of Barcelona. I\u00f1aki complemented his studies with a degree in fashion design.\r\n\r\nAilanto's universe is famous for its color combinations, geometric shapes, and references to avant-garde artistic movements. Signature prints, figurative embroidery, and elegant juxtapositions of texture are frequently used to enrich the collections, making the label visually recognizable worldwide.\r\n\r\nAilanto womenswear collections have been sold internationally since 1999, with acclaimed runway presentations at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid. 2010 marked a new era for the brand with the opening of the first Ailanto boutique in Barcelona, \u200b\u200bfollowed by the Ailanto boutique in Madrid in 2012.\r\n\r\nAs Ailanto designers, I\u00f1aki and Aitor have been awarded Best Spanish Designer by Glamour Magazine and the Marie Claire Award for Best National Designer. In 2005, Ailanto became a member of the prestigious Spanish Association of Fashion Designers (ACME). The brand has exhibited its creations at the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Queen Sof\u00eda Spanish Institute in New York, the Cervantes Institute in Tokyo, the Spanish embassies in London and New York, and the Decorative Arts Museum in Moscow.\r\n\r\nAilanto has developed fashion and lifestyle product lines for Sargadelos, Naf Naf, Cerabella, Hazel, DAC, and Santa & Cole. Past and present collaborations include Campari, TATA Motors, Lladr\u00f3, Nespresso, Chupa-Chups, W Hotels, and L'Or\u00e9al.
